Affirming Mental Health Program for LGBTQ+ Youth

I’m excited to share that Y Mind is offering fall cohorts specifically for LGBTQ+ youth and teens. This free, 7-week program provides a safe, affirming space to explore anxiety, build coping skills, and connect with others who understand.
They are excited to offer four Y Mind groups this fall, each designed to support youth in building resilience and managing anxiety through mindfulness and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT):
Program Details
- Free group for youth ages 18-30 or teens ages 13-18 who are experiencing mild-moderate anxiety or stress
- Learn evidence-based strategies of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, & self-compassion
- Delivered by 2 trained mental health professionals
- Maximum of 14 participants per group
- Closed group—same participants each week
- No diagnosis of anxiety needed
- No YMCA membership needed
- Participants may self-refer

Program eligibility
- Anxiety in the mild-moderate range (stress, worry, tension, thoughts about self-judgement or self-criticism which may spiral uncomfortably)
- Anxiety is the primary mental health concern that you are currently struggling with
- Your schedule allows you to attend all 7 (or 10 in school groups) sessions of the program
- Willing to foster a safe space for group members to share and receive support, respectfully listening as well as sharing according to your comfort level
