VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

We have a variety of volunteer roles available throughout the day. Whether you enjoy working with people, helping behind the scenes, or keeping events running smoothly, there's a place for you!

Setup Crew *HIGH NEED*
Help set up tents, tables, signage, activity areas, and other event infrastructure before the Pride Picnic begins. Direct food trucks, market vendors and parade vehicles into set up and unloading area's. We welcome volunteers of all abilities, and there are plenty of tasks for everyone. If you're comfortable lifting heavier items, your assistance during setup would be especially appreciated.

Welcome & Information
Be one of the first friendly faces attendees see! Welcome guests to the Pride Picnic, answer questions, provide event information, and help visitors find activities, vendors, washrooms, the stage, and other amenities throughout the park.

Sensory Space Support
Help create a calm, welcoming environment in the sensory tent for attendees who may need a quiet break from the event. Volunteers will help monitor the space, welcome visitors, ensure the area remains comfortable and well-stocked, and notify organizers if additional assistance is needed.

Command Centre Attendant
Help staff the event's command centre, located beside First Aid, Security, the sound crew, and the stage backstage area. Volunteers will answer questions, share event, safety, and security information, assist volunteers and event staff, distribute water, and help keep communication flowing throughout the day.

Floater
Floaters are flexible volunteers who help wherever they're needed most throughout the day. You may assist different teams, cover volunteer breaks, answer questions, or respond to unexpected needs to help the event run smoothly.

Environmental Team
Help keep the Pride Picnic clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone. Volunteers will monitor garbage and recycling stations, pick up litter, restock washroom supplies, and let event organizers know if any areas need attention.

Tear Down Crew *HIGH NEED*
Help pack up equipment and restore the park after the event. We welcome volunteers of all abilities, and there are plenty of tasks for everyone. If you're comfortable lifting heavier items, your assistance during setup would be especially appreciated.

Volunteer Perks

As a thank you for your time, lunch, snacks, and refreshments will be provided during your volunteer shift. Volunteers will also receive orientation and support throughout the day to help ensure a fun and rewarding experience.
