Zine making

PRIDE PRESS ZINE MAKING

Come explore the radical queer tradition of zine making!

Zines are DIY booklets used to exchange ideas without conventional publishing barriers. No algorithm. No censorship. No smoothing over rough edges. Loud and proud, zines are easy to make and share!

Drop in between 12 PM – 4 PM to learn how to make a basic one-sheet zine.

Hosted by Aubrey, a PG-based zinester gluing together drawings, collage, and prose that can easily fit into back pockets!

Aubrey is currently writing about poverty and queerness in their zine Queer Economic Justice. Their zine about non-binary top surgery, Hope Chest, is distributed by Sheer Spite Press. They have previously contributed to vOid, MANMADE/MADE MAN, and Midwest Queer Collective.

All materials for this workshop are provided.

Entertainment Workshop

Panel: Entertainment & Production

Entertainment is political, joyful, and deeply cultural. Creating queer entertainment in northern and smaller communities takes creativity, care, and hard work. This panel brings together show producers and performers to share how they build performances, support artists, and create vibrant queer spaces in places like Northern BC. Learn what happens behind the scenes and how entertainment shapes local queer culture.

Rooted in culture, story, and resistance, this panel highlights Indigenous Two-Spirit experiences through art and lived identity. Panelists share what Two-Spirit means to them, how they express it creatively, and how this identity shapes their lives in a colonial world.

Through art, dialogue, and reflection, they reclaim space, voice, and visibility.
